“You reach your fullest potential as a singer when you know how to balance technical skill with artistry.”

— Amy Prince, owner

What will I learn in voice lessons?

Voice lessons do so much more than help you sing higher - though that can be something to work towards! My lessons are all about working with my students to reach and exceed their performance goals, including:

●      Improving technical skills such as range, pitch accuracy, and breath support,
●      Cross training in different styles of music while remaining true to your unique sound,
●      Improving your ability to not just sing the song well, but connect and tell the story,
●      Building confidence in your voice,
●      And more!

How can lessons help with auditions?

Have you ever wanted to audition for a musical but didn't know what to do? Lessons can help! Whether you're auditioning for a choir, school musical, community theatre, professional theatre, or college programs, lessons are a great way to find audition opportunities, choose audition pieces, and learn tips to take with you into the room or when you press record for your submission. If you're interested in competitions such as NATS or Solo & Ensemble, I also have adjudicating experience and can give you the inside scoop on what the judges look for and how they are scored! Contact me and we can get you ready for your next audition with a plan to succeed.

Can lessons help with stage fright?

Do you love singing but the thought of performing outside of the safety of your car or shower scares the pants off of you? Voice lessons can help with that!

My teaching style is all about collaboration and the freedom of trying new things in a safe, encouraging space. Together, we will build your confidence one note at a time. Once you feel ready, we can introduce small, low-risk performance opportunities to tackle stage fright and performance anxiety.

What should I bring to my first lesson?

I offer a free, 20 minute trial lesson for all potential voice students. This allows you to get to know my teaching style and allows me to hear your voice and give feedback on what we could start working towards. The trial lesson is also a great opportunity to talk about what singing experience you do have and any goals you want to work towards. I recommend bringing water, a pencil, something to take notes with, and sheet music for one or two songs that you are comfortable with. You may also use your phone to play an instrumental or karaoke track to sing with.
